Description | Lovely hand made cloth doll. Black wool hair and embroidered features. The doll was made by a woman living high up in the Peruvian Andes. She is a direct descendant from the Inca people. The Inca people live near Cuzco, south east Peru. They are famous for their colourful weavings. Cuzco was once the capital of the Inca Empire. The second picture shows the doll maker with her daughter and the third picture shows her daughter (rather shy!) cuddling her own doll made by her mother. The doll was given to me by Samantha, the daughter of my friend Sandra. Samantha bought the doll off the doll maker in Peru. 6" high. Peru. 2009. Makers marks: None. |
